Instructors

Master Printer Emily York came to Crown Point Press after training as a printer at Paulson Press, a printmaking press in Berkeley founded by two former Crown Point master printers. Emily was born in Napa, California and grew up in St. Helena, in the Napa Valley. She received her BA in Art with an emphasis on Printmaking from the University of California at Santa Cruz.

Master Printer Ianne Kjorlie was born in Topeka, Kansas. She moved to Portland, Oregon to study art at Portland State University. In 2005 she received her BA in Printmaking as well as a second BA in Art History. In December of 2005 Ianne began working at Crown Point Press. She makes her own art at her home studio in San Francisco.

Printer Fanny Retsek came to work at Crown Point Press in June 2012. Prior to that, she was the founding director and master printer of the Print Center at the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art. Fanny also enjoys working on her own art in her San Jose studio and exhibits regionally and internationally. She received an MFA with an emphasis in printmaking from San Jose State University.
